Certificate Course On Polymer In Waste Water Management and Water Quality Monitoring Techniques – Notiffication

Certificate Course on Polymer in Waste Water management and Water Quality Monitoring Techniques

Globally, over four billion people lack access to safe drinking water, with the quality of available water often compromised by various human activities. An important aspect of addressing water quality issues is the role of polymers in wastewater management. Polymers are increasingly being used in the treatment processes to enhance the removal of contaminants. They help in coagulation and flocculation, which improves the efficiency of solid-liquid separation, leading to cleaner effluents. Additionally, polymers can aid in the filtration and adsorption of harmful substances, making treated water safer for reuse and discharge. Their application in wastewater management is crucial for developing sustainable solutions to ensure access to safe drinking water.

The School of Polymer Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM)and Sree Sankara College in Kalady, has jointly initiated a certificate program focused on “Polymers in Wastewater Management and Water Quality Monitoring Techniques.” This program aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills related to the innovative use of polymers in treating wastewater and ensuring water quality. By combining theoretical insights with practical applications, the program seeks to address critical challenges in water management, contributing to the broader goal of improving access to safe drinking water.

The programme is in Hybrid model

  • Interactive or online live sessions on all key areas of the programme giving all flexibility to the participants.
  • Online or Offline classes for all the modules will be conducted on the weekends. Moreover, a interaction session will also be scheduled periodically before the examination.
  • All the efforts are made by an expert panel of faculty members to make the entire programme modules easily understandable.
  • Assessment and evaluation for all the programme modules, in order to enhance the levels of competencies and skills of the participants, towards objective of application in the job.

Future career prospects

n this course, participants will learn to understand and evaluate critical water issues that impact global governance. They will assess the implications for businesses and public/private entities and make informed decisions regarding the conservation of local ecosystems. Water quality management courses present numerous opportunities; in India, about 20% of employees work in the environmental sector, with that number expected to double by 2030. Reports indicate that 24 million green jobs will be available worldwide by then. Graduates of water quality and management courses can pursue careers in climate monitoring think tanks, pollution control boards, environmental consultancy firms, and the public health sector.
